🤷‍♂️Can I participate in a Langclub session?

In order to participate in a Langclub session, you must meet our minimum requirements:

You must be at least 16 years old.
You must have an intermediate level of English proficiency (at least B-level English).
You must participate in the conversation. It is against our rules to join a session without a camera or microphone.

🤷‍♂️How do I know if I qualify for the intermediate (at least B1 or B2) English level?

We require all participants to have an intermediate level of English so that the conversation practice can be productive and enjoyable for all of our members. Since this is a fluency-building session rather than a class, we require all members to be able to hold a conversation without a teacher’s guidance.
Intermediate (B1 or B2) English is described as the ability to hold a conversation spontaneously and be clearly understood with a few errors in grammar or word choice. Intermediate speakers are able to comfortably converse with other learners.

An IELTS score of 5-5.5 is also recognized as B1 proficiency.

While we want everyone to have a chance to practice their English, if a participant is unable to speak, understand the questions, or be understood by other participants, our members will not be able to enjoy the session or work on improving their own English.
Our sessions are all about building fluency through conversations. At the present, we are not able to offer the guidance and support needed for A1 or A2 learners.
The Langclub team reserves the right to remove and ban any participants who break our rules or do not meet our minimum requirements.
